Blood, Tears, Revolution and Resurrection
This piece started with the model's expression that says so many things. As I played with the background, influenced by Russian icon paintings and my thoughts about the Divine Feminine, the halo imagery emerged, along with the blood references to acknowledge both the feminine suffering in the world and the power of women to bring new life into existence.
